Instructions:

 Card Base & Gate:

* Cut (1) Real Red Cardstock, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″, using the base card template provided. (If you would like to know how I achieved the template I will post it below).

* Cut (2) gate panels in real red at 2-1/2 x 5-1/2 then score at 2-1/8 on the Stampin Paper Trimmer ( if using a score board you will want to score at 3/8).

* Fold the 3/8th tab so that each gate will measure 2-1/8 by folding one tab under on the right and the other on the left, ( you can turn the panels and fold

them to have the folds one on each side)

* Stack the 2 gate panels on top of each other with the 3/8 folded tabs facing under.

* Next using the big shot and the labels framlit 4 (Count the framlit from the largest to the smallest and us the fourth one in)

* Leaving the 2 gates stacked on top of each other slip the gate through the framlit so that the top of the gate panels is under the cutting blade and the bottom is laying on top of the die.

* Take and make your cutting sandwich but instead of covering with the clear top plate completely you will just cove the die and panel halfway, (you only want to cut the top)

* Now using the stripes embossing folder only emboss the 2 stacked gate panels up to a 3rd of the gate length leaving  1-1/4″ of the top with out being textured by the embossing folder, cut the 3/8″ tab off to the start of the gate stripes line as shown below.

* Next using the Versa Mark water mark in and the Flowering flourishes stamp set mask off the gate so that only the 1-1/4″ top on both sides is heat embossed with gold embossing powder and then add the antique brads to the front of each gate.

* Wrap the 1/8 metallic gold ribbon around the top of each gate as shown in picture above.

* Cut 2 whisper white  inside gate panels for the sentiment at 1-7/8 x 3-3/8

* Sponge lightly around the edges to add depth and stamp the sentiment in versa mark water mark ink then heat emboss with gold embossing powder.

* Now attach each gate to the red base with the tabs facing inside the card. ( the tabs will be covered with the white door frame)

* Adhere and center the sentiment panels to the inside of each gate.

* You may need to cut off and even up the bottom of the gate with the card base after it’s attached. ( The extra length of the gate is so that when you cut the shape using the labels framlit you don’t cut it to short)

left and right gate

How to create the center panel card base ( template has been provided above)

* I traced the top left half circle design from the left gate panel I then repeated it on the right

* Next using circle framlit 2 I cut a half circle out  that would connect to the two humps I traced

* Then cut out the traced humps with paper snips

031032

Whisper White Door Frame

* Cut (1) Whisper White, 4-1/4 x 5-1/2″door template base

* Stamp with the Hardwood background stamp in crumb cake, (Stamp off first so it wont be to dark)

* You can print and trace this template or using the circle framelits 2 (counting in from the outer circle) cut a half circle in the top

* Next using the circle framelit 4 cut a half circle as shown, do not cut all the way down.

* Using the Stampin Trimmer cut away the straight line of the half circle to form the window

* Cut away the inside door panel to complete the door frame and set aside for later you will use the hardwood square to form the door panels

* Once your door frame is complete you will take the square panel you cut away and cut (2) 1-5/8 x 2, square panels and (2) 1-5/8 x 1-1/4 distress edges by sponging the edges with crumb cake to add depth

* Then add the panels leaving a 1/8″ gap on each side to form the door

Window Frame:

* Cut one piece of whisper white card stock 3-1/2 x 1-3/4″ using circle framlit 3 cut the outer circle for the base of the045

window frame using the Big shot

* Next using circle framlit 4 cut only a 3rd of the way leaving a 1/4″ on the bottom uncut.

* Using the stampin paper trimmer cut the inside half circle out to complete the window frame as shown below

* Cut a piece of vellum 3-1/ x 1-3/4 and cut only using the circle framelit 4 to for a half circle

* Using the smallest circle framlit 10 blade side up, a mouse pad and stylist mold the a center half circle as shown below.

* Next score the vellum at the 1/2 way make of the center circle you created

* Score the vellum at a 45 degree angle 1/2″ on each side of the center line

Tip: print the window template below layer the vellum on top of the template and trace with a stylist on a mouse pad

* Now adhere by layering underneath window frame.

* Then adhere to the frame of the white door window to frame it

Wreath:

* Cut  one 3-1/2 x 3-1/2 piece of  whisper white cards stock (I used shimmering white card stock to give it a little sparkle)

* Stamp the wreath base in old olive, then the 2nd layer in garden green.

* Now stamp the little berries using cherry cobbler and embellish with the basic rhinestone jewels.

* You may want to use the flowers also in the Wondrous Wreath bundle, if so I stamped it in cherry cobbler on scrap whisper white card stock and added a little sparkle with my Wink of Stella clear pen.

* Cut 1 bow from the red glimmer card stock using the wonderful wreath bow framlit.

* Attach the wreath and embellish with the glimmer bow and Jewels.

* To color the jewels I used the cherry cobbler blendabilities marker.

10. Stamp the small Papillon Potpourri Butterfly in Black Berry Bliss ink on daffodil delight card stock and punch out with the itty bitty punch

image11. Stack the small Butterfly on top of the Larger Butterfly with adhesive leaving the wings free, just apply the glue to the butterfly spine then attach to the top of your 3d flower in the center

Tip: You may shape the butter fly and puff it to add a more 3d effect to the project, see the tutorial at this link, http://www.leahscards.wordpress.com/2014/04/08/creative-elements-butterfly-3d-technique-tuesday/

12. Now glue the 3d flower to the top flap of the post it note cover

Stampin Up Everything Eleanor

everything eleanor swap

This card was inspired by a swap card I saw at the 2014 Stampin Up Convention last month. I have been asked by several people how the card was created and unfortunately I only had taken a photo of

the card and did not have any of the instructions or the name of the original creator of the project so I made my own version of the card and I taught it at my August Stamp Camp.

It was a big hit!

So I would like to share it with you my subscribers.

Regarding Dahlia 2 Step Stamping Technique

imageI have been asked,

“What is the 2 Step Stamping Technique

you used to create this image with the

Regarding Dahlia Stamp Set?

So here it is!

1.  I stamped the image using Memento’s Black Tuxedo Ink,  (item, #13278)

2.  I colored the image using the Stampin Up Blendabilities Alcohol Markers in, Daffodil Delight (item, #130998),  Pumpkin Pie (item, #130997) and Cherry Cobbler (item, #130995)

3. Once I was happy with my shading I re-stamped the image using my Stamp-a-ma-jig, (item, #101049) and Versa Mark Water Mark Ink,( item, #102283)

4. Covered image in clear embossing powder, (item, #109130) and heat set it with my heat tool, (Item, #129053).  That’s what gives it such an awesome 3D  WOW!

5.  I then fussy cut it out and attached it using the Stampin Up dimensionals (item, #104430).

The Card is basically the same as my Regarding Dahlia Convention Card Swap Tutorial.

  • The Cherry Cobbler cardstock matt was embossed using the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, (item #127751) and the Big Shot, (item #113439)
  • The Swirls are from the Everything Eleanor Stamp Set (item #131987, wood and 124164, clear)
  • Sentiment is from the Blooms with Hope Hostess Stamp Set, (133949, wood and 133952, clear)
  • The background on the strip of pumpkin Pie card stock is now retired, it is from the En Francais background stamp.

I hope you give this technique a try.

I would love for you to send me your pictures of what you have created using this technique,

Just email it to me at LeahsCards @live.com or you can #LeahsCards on Insta-Gram.

Directions

Pumpkin Pie Base Card: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″, folded to 5 1/2 x 4 1/4″

Cut (2) Whisper White Mats, 5 1/8 x 3 7/8″

Cut (1) 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 piece of Whisper White for the flower

Cut (1) Whisper White Mat, 2 5/8 x 5″

Cut (1) Pumpkin Pie Mat, 2 1/2 x 5″

Cut (1) Cherry Cobbler Mat, 5 x 3 3/4″

Cut (1) Cherry Cobble banner for sentiment, 3 x 1 1/8″

* First emboss the cherry cobbler mat using the decorative dots folder and glue to the 5 1/8th white mat and glue to the card base.

* Next, on the white 3 1/2 piece stamp and heat emboss the dahlia bloom image using the versa mark water mark ink pad and the white embossing powder and heat set.

Tip:  Versa Mark Ink is a watermark ink that is sticky so when you stamp an image using it you can then pour embossing powder over it and heat set it for a raised image.

* Using sponge dauber start in the center coloring the image in a circular motion with the Daffodil Delight you will notice as you move outward the color will get lighter that is what you want.

* Using a clean sponge dauber you will slightly over lap your next color of Pumpkin Pie coloring in a circular motion outward almost to the outside edge of the image

Your last color to add to the dahlia image is the Cherry Cobbler, you want to start coloring from the outer edge moving in toward the pumpkin pie and slightly over lap the two colors, fussy cut the image and set aside.

* Using the pumpkin Pie mat you cut 2 1/2 x 5, shade the outer edge with a sponge in pumpkin pie ink by flicking it around the outer edge to give it a distressed cloudy look that will define the matt for framing.

* Then stamp the speckle image from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set in cherry cobbler on to the pumpkin pie mat.

Tip: You will want to stamp off the color before you stamp the speckle on the card stock and stamp it a couple of times before you re-ink the stamp so that the image has a variation of the cherry cobbler color.

* Next you want to stamp the flower floret swirl image in Versa Mark and heat emboss it with the gold embossing powder,

Add using stamping dimensionals.

* Stamp the Wetlands sentiment on the cherry cobbler banner  with the versa mark ink and heat emboss with the white embossing powder.

Add to the pumpkin Pie mat using dimensionals.

Embellish with jewels and make it your own.

cut some 1/4″ ribbon to 9″ and fold in half

Layer the folded ribbon leaving the tails showing and glue it under the 2 3/4 very vanilla focal image piece.  Attach the ribbon and focal image on top of the tangerine tango cardstock focal image base

Next stamp on scrap very vanilla cards stock 2 tulip images in stazon black, color them using tangerine tango classic ink and the daffodil delight ink for highlights. You can us the blender pen to give it a water color effect by taking the blender pen and dip it into the ink pad lid ( use a closed ink pad and press down on the lid to transfer ink from the pad to the lid)  or if you have the refills just use a drop on your craft mat and dip the blender pen tip in the ink and color. ( be careful not to over saturate your paper so you don’t cause it to rip)  Use the same technique to color in the stems and leaves with Old Olive classic ink, Cut out the images and set aside.

Now pop up the focal image using the stampin dimensional and add the cut out tulip image on top of the stamped image also using stampin dimensionals

For the inside of the card cut a base card of very vanilla, 4 x 5 1/4, center and glue to card,

at the bottom cut and glue a 4 x 1″ piece of Venitian Romance DSP.

Finally add the other cut out tulip and glue it to the left bottom corner and enjoy.
